What are the benefits of Reverse Osmosis Filtration?
BATHER COMFORT
You will see a noticeable difference in the quality and feel of your pool’s water. Reverse osmosis leaves behind water you could bottle. No more dry skin, obnoxious fumes or red eyes.
USE LESS CHEMICALS
Our Reverse Osmosis filtration service removes all inorganic solids including salts, calcium and more. The result is optimum chemistry that requires less chlorine and chemicals for your pool.
SAVE WATER
The process retains 85% of the water in your pool. Why drain your pool, wasting thousands of gallons of water, only to replace it with unbalanced and calcium-rich tap water?
HOW DOES OUR R.O. SERVICE WORK?
Reverse Osmosis is performed by our mobile state-of-the-art R.O. trailer. After our technician arrives and sets up, he will perform a complete water analysis. This information will allow him to program the computer and set the desired levels for optimum chemistry. He can then work off site and monitor the trailer’s settings remotely.
An average pool takes 24 hours to filter 40k gallons of water, while recycling 85% of the water already in your pool.
Are you and your family ready to swim in the best quality of water?
F.A.Q.
WHY IS REVERSE OSMOSIS NECESSARY?
As water evaporates, solids (calcium, nitrates, phosphates, cyanuric acid and salts) remain in solution and increase over time with the addition of new water.
High levels of these compounds require additional chlorine and other chemicals to balance your pool’s chemistry. Additionally, they will damage and deteriorate your pool’s protective surface.
The only way to remove these solids is to drain your pool and refill it with tap water (which is naturally high in calcium and solids) or simply filter it through a reverse osmosis system.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE THIS SERVICE DONE ON MY POOL?
Commercial pools should be filtered every 6-12 months, and residential pools every 2-4 years depending on the use and size of the pool.
We’d be happy to test your pool’s current chemistry levels and advise when your next R.O. service should be scheduled.
IS THE REVERSE OSMOSIS TRAILER LOUD?
Not at all. During the filtration service, you will hear a soft hum along with the sound of running water from a hose that will maintain your pool’s elevation levels.
The system will automatically shut off when the optimum chemistry levels are maintained and our technician will perform a complete water analysis before and after the service.
Will draining and re-filling the pool have the same effect?
No. Santa Barbara’s drought conditions have resulted in calcium-rich tap water. Refilling your pool with this water will result in high level of solids from the start.
You should also be aware of the risks that come along with draining a swimming pool. These include structural changes when the weight of the water is removed, and damage to your pool surface, which was never designed to be directly exposed to the sun or air.
WHAT IF PACIFIC POOLS IS NOT MY REGULAR POOL SERVICE COMPANY?
We are pleased to offer this service to new clients without requiring an ongoing service contract. For average size pools, we can conduct a water analysis and full filtration service and be done in 24 hours.
We will be happy to share our recommendations for follow up on your pool's chemistry, otherwise we will leave that part of the job to your regular service provider.
